Food has been our entire lives for over a decade, working as a Sommelier and Operations Manager in some of Britain’s best restaurants and hotels. An obsession with eating the very best we can find combined with a tight budget forced us to dig deeper into the food culture of the places we’ve visited. We scour the streets, markets, restaurants, and Google maps listings for the incredible food that doesn’t blow your budget. And we’ve kept the receipts (well, notes) on all the best places so you can eat to experience the best of the local food culture.

Who is Katie?
Obsessively organized spreadsheet enthusiast who is in love with basically every 4-legged creature on Earth. Though I’m a little unsure about the 2 legged ones and definitely against 6 or more.
Working in Operations for hotels and restaurants means I have a plan A-Z for basically everything,
I love my camera, buildings that are falling down, and taking photos of buildings that are falling down! I’ve also recently developed a *very* expensive taste in coffee – its microlot pour over or nothing for me.
Who is Matt?
A food and food history nerd who spent most of his career surrounded by other major food nerds.
After over a decade as a Sommelier in Michelin starred restaurants, I ONLY want to eat the good stuff. As a traveller on a budget, I want to eat the cheap stuff. So we share the places that are both.
I spend most of my time doom-searching Google Maps looking for specific dishes or the most exciting street food to try. Since I’m basically useless when I’m hungry, I always have somewhere pinned nearby that looks interesting.
