Tokyo Foodies Map is the result of months spent exploring and eating in Tokyo, asking every local person we met where they love to eat, and hours spent researching the local favourites in each neighbourhood.
Stay spontaneous: One of the greatest joys of exploring Tokyo is just getting lost in the immensity of it. Our Foodies Map has amazing places all over the city, so no matter where you wander to, you’ll have a recommended place to eat nearby.
What you want at a glance: Noodles? Sushi? Izakayas? Tonkatsu? The map is organised into layers by food type so you can find exactly what you’re craving.
Focus on affordable food: The lists of “best restaurants in Tokyo” are filled with places its impossible to get into and food that would bankrupt most people. While there are some high-end places on this map, we’ve focused on mid-budget options (or cheaper). Ones that you can afford to just roll up to and get a great meal without stressing over the bill.
Local recommendations: This isn’t just a generic list of the places we visited with no idea if there was something better elsewhere. We dug DEEP into the Japanese food scene for all the places most highly rated by locals.

What do I need to use the Tokyo Foodies Map?
What device can I use this map on?
Anything that can access Google Maps can access our Tokyo Foodies Map. Once the map has saved to your account, it will be available on any device that you’re logged into.
What will I receive when I buy your map?
You will get a PDF document that has a link to the Tokyo Foodies Map and instructions for how to install and use the map. It will be sent to the email address you use during checkout so you can come back to it later if you need to.
What if I have problems using the map?
Everything is set up to make finding great food in Tokyo as easy as possible for you. However, if you have any problems accessing the map for any reason, just reach out to us and we’ll be happy to help.
How long will I have access to the map for?
FOREVER! Once you’ve saved the map to your Google Maps account, you’ll always have access. Every time we visit Tokyo and add more great food spots (or remove them if we don’t think they live up to expectations anymore), you’ll automatically get the updates too.
I’m a vegetarian. Can I use the Tokyo Foodies Map?
The map features a diverse range of restaurants, bars, and cafes across the city but we don’t separate out the ones that are suitable for vegetarians/ vegans (or any other dietary requirement). So it’s probably not the foodie solution for you.
